favorite affirmations

Here are some of my favorite affirmations. Use them as a guide to make up your own. Add to them, change them around to make them your work for you.

I bless the past with love and release it and let it go. Only it’s blessings remain.

I am free to be free to live my life without pain or guilt.

I love and approve of who I am.

I am safe.

I trust my decisions.

I forgive myself completely. I realize I did the best that I could at the time.

I am perfect regardless of my weight. I am not defined by my body size.

It is safe for me to let go of old habits.

My body expresses my unique perfection, I am beautiful strong and energetic.

I welcome love into my life with an open heart.

There is enough for everyone love, happiness and prosperity. I am open to receive the true abundance of life.

The light and power and love of my divine self flows in me and through me.

I joyfully accept the positive in my life.

I am open to the gift of laughter.

With love in me I only need to extend it.

May the white light of the holy spirit surround me, protect me and keep me safe.

Affirmations continued

If doubts or contradicting thoughts arise when saying an affirmation, don’t resist them or try to stop them. That will only give them power. Just let your doubts flow through your mind and then return to your positive statements and images.

Always phrase affirmations in the present tense, not in the future. Don’t express “ I will get a wonderful job," but instead “ I have a wonderful job.” This is not lying to yourself but acknowledging. Everything is created on the mental plane before it can manifest into objective reality. It is also a way of changing how we talk to ourselves.

Don’t feel discouraged if you don’t immediately feel successful with your affirmations. Remember that most of us have years of negative though patterns to overcome, so be patient. It has taken a lifetime to create your world the way it is. With perseverance you will succeed in creating what seems like miracles in your life.

Affirmations cannot be used to control the behavior of others or cause them to do anything against their will. Its effect is to dissolve our internal barriers to natural harmony and self realization, allowing everyone to manifest in their most positive way.

When you achieve your goal, be sure to acknowledge consciously to yourself that it has been completed. Often we achieve things we have been desiring and affirming and forget to even notice we have succeeded. So give yourself some appreciation. Do something wonderful, not just a pat on the back. Be sure to thank the universe for fulling your request.

Relax, sit or lie down, close your eyes and breathe deeply. Imagine something in your life you would like to affirm. Imagine it has already happened. Picture it, sense it, feel it. Now surround your visualization with a pink bubble. Pink is the color associated with the heart. If this color vibration surrounds whatever you visualize, it will bring to you that which is in perfect affinity for you. Now let the bubble go and imagine it floating off into the hands of the universe. Release it knowing the universe will bring this or something better to you.


I use affirmations daily. They really help. Affirmations are positive thoughts to replace negative thought patterns and imprinting. All of us play the same old songs over and over again in our heads. I know it’s really hard to think positive thoughts when life is throwing us thorns instead of roses. Loss is the hardest thing we have to learn. Be it loss of love, loss of a friend or job. This is the time when positive thoughts can help us the most even though you might feel you would rather throw something or have a good old fashion temper tantrum . All that negative energy can be put to much better use. Affirmations are best said with lots of force and meaning. The more you put into it the more you get out of it. While using affirmations, try to suspend any doubts or disbelief you have, at least for the moment. With practice, getting that which you desire is very real and possible.
When you first start using and affirmation you may not believe it. Fact is if you already believed it, there would be no reason to affirm it.It is important to tap into the feeling of the belief and to experience that the affirmation can be true. Put your full mental and emotional energy into it.

One of the best ways to say an affirmation is in front of a mirror. Easier said than done. Try it. If you shift your eyes during the process you are negating the effect. It is sort of like when you are first learning to tie your shoe laces. At first it takes many attempts to complete the task with success until one day it becomes automatic .

Always chose affirmations that feel right for you. What works for one person may not for you. An affirmation should feel positive, freeing and supportive.

An affirmation should be clear, simple and in the present tense. Let it come from the heart and not the head.

One of my favorites is, “ With love in me I only need to extend it “ I use that one a lot when I drive. It helps me be more patient and take a moment to breathe when things get stressful.
Whenever I am concerned for myself or those that I care about, I use “May the white light of the holy spirit surround me and protect me and keep me safe” Of course one changes the name depending on who you are referring to. It works just as well for animals too.
